FEIGN FOR HONG KONG CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Don't vote for me (you can't anyway)

Following is the transcript of Larry Feign's speech to the
Hong Kong Foreign Correspondents Club on 30 April 2004:

My name is Larry Feign and I am the first person to officially declare his candidacy for Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

I know, the new CE isn't supposed to be selected until 2007. But you never know; any day now the NPC Standing Committee could "reinterpret" the year 2007 to really mean 2099, or 2005½ for that matter, so as a candidate I want to be prepared.

I know what you're thinking-Yes, Feign is the dream candidate. But he's a-er-faan gwailo, isn't he?

I'm Chinese and I can prove it. Take a look at my passport: says right on it "United States of America". Just like Tung Chee-Hwa's children have. Same as that mega-super-patriot Ronnie Chan, who yet again this week lambasted Hong Kong people for not being loyal enough to Hong Kong and China. Obviously I'm as Chinese as they are American.
